The Maritime College of Forest Technology is located in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Nestled along the Saint John River; the city is home to approximately 85,000 residents. Students have an opportunity to live within a city that has more of a small town feel to it.
Its long history and new age technology makes it a destination for all cultures. Recently Fredericton was named one of the World's Top 7 Intelligent Communities by the New York based Intelligent Community Forum.
With over 85 km of trails along the St John and Nashwaak Rivers, 175 acres of old growth forest within the city (Odell Park) and its sporting venues, Fredericton is a hotspot for all types of fitness seekers.
Fredericton offers two major river systems for leisure and sports. The Saint John River has over 400 km of boating and angling access while the Nashwaak River provides a great spot for recreational kayaking and canoeing.
Visiting the Beaverbrook Art Gallery or exploring the Historic Garrison District downtown to the Boyce Farmers Market on Saturday’s gives students the opportunity to discover other cultures from around the world.
With acts from around the world, the nationally recognized Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival is a sure destination for all musicians and music enthusiasts.
