How to Apply

Documents Needed

  • A completed application form.
  • A non-refundable application fee of $50.00 (Canadian funds).
    The college accepts cheques, money orders or cash.
  • An official high school transcript of marks.
    Applicants in grade 12 should forward first semester marks with their application.
    Final marks must be forwarded by the school at the end of the school year.
    Two letters of reference, preferably from forest technicians/technologists, foresters, employers or from someone who knows you and your work (other than a relative).
  • Any other transcripts of marks issued by a post secondary institution.

Please Note: All successful applicants are required to have a valid First Aid certificate for the duration of the program. You can contact your local St John Ambulance or Red Cross to receive this training. The certificate required is Standard First Aid or a two day course.

Successful applicants will be mailed a medical form to be filled out by your physician. These forms are needed prior to the start of regular classes.

Applications for residence are included on the program application. Students from Fredericton and the surrounding areas are free to live off-campus if they so choose. Should a prospective student choose to live off-campus it is highly recommended that they have their own means of transportation rather than relying on public transit.  

Applicants From Other Areas

Applicants from other countries will be evaluated to determine that they meet the entrance standards of the Maritime College of Forest Technology.

Application Deadlines And Fees

Completed applications and fees must be received by the admissions office no later than February 28 to be considered in the initial selection process. Priority will be given to those applicants who meet the deadline. Class size is limited to 60 students. When qualified applicants exceed program capacity, the applicants will be ranked on specific criteria and selection will be made on the results of the ranking.

All successful applicants will receive notification by mail in March. A $200.00 non-refundable confirmation fee is required to hold your seat in the September class. This fee will be applied to your tuition fees at registration and must be received no later than the date specified on the acceptance letter.

Application Process & Response Timeline

Written notification of completed application within 10 days of receiving all documents.

February – Application deadline
March – Notification of acceptance to all successful applicants
April – Seat confirmation fee to be sent in by successful applicants
June – Registration and Residence information sent to students registering in September
August – Completed medical forms returned to the college
September – Registration, classes begin.
